The lawyer
Maître Mourad Essbissi, member of the Oujda Bar
Maître Mourad Essbissi has been in practice for more than ten years, advising clients and pleading before the courts of the Oriental region and beyond. In Morocco a lawyer is addressed as Maître and is admitted to a regional bar rather than to a single national roll; his is the Oujda Bar Association.
His practice combines rigour in applying the law with flexibility in interpreting it. Law is a body of texts and rules; practising it is a craft, resting on sound analysis, precise legal characterisation and the power to persuade.
You are received by the lawyer himself, and keep the same point of contact from the first meeting through to enforcement of the judgment.
- More than ten years in practice, in advisory work and in litigation
- Every file studied as a case of its own, with a solution designed for it
- An objective assessment of the case, and a realistic picture of its chances
- Procedures explained plainly, in terms a client abroad can follow

Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most often
Appointments, remote consultations, fees and documents to gather: the essentials before making contact.
How do I arrange an appointment?
The most direct route is the consultation request form: it tells the office which area of law is involved and whether proceedings have begun, so that it can call you back already knowing the essentials.
For a brief question you can also send a WhatsApp message to +212 666 786 476, stating only the general subject of your enquiry and when you are available. The office replies during opening hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and proposes a time. Telephone and email are of course also open. Note that Morocco observes GMT+1 all year.
Is a remote consultation possible?
Yes. The office consults remotely, by telephone or through modern communication channels, for clients who do not live in Oujda and for Moroccans living abroad. A remote consultation is covered by the same duty of confidentiality as a meeting at the office. Some steps do require a signature or a personal appearance — a power of attorney, for instance, which for a client abroad is usually executed before a Moroccan consulate. The office tells you at the first exchange whether your matter is one of them.
How are fees determined?
Fees are set according to the nature of the file, its complexity and the work it requires, after an initial consultation that makes the scope clear. They are stated before any commitment is made, so that no step is taken before you know what it will cost. No figure can be published in advance on this website, because it would depend on matters specific to each case.
What should I bring to a first appointment?
Your identity document, together with everything relating to the matter: contracts, correspondence, summonses, police reports, any judgment or notification you have already received, and receipts or proof of payment. A short written summary of the facts in date order saves a considerable amount of time. Bring the originals and, if possible, a copy. If your documents are in a language other than Arabic or French, mention it when you make the appointment: a certified translation may be needed for the court.
Have a question? Arrange an appointment
Describe the subject of your enquiry in one sentence, without confidential detail. The office replies during opening hours and proposes an appointment, at the office or remotely.
